Synopsis
Austrian and German filmmakers don't recoil from examining their countries' past. Adapted from a novel by Josef Haslinger, this historical thriller spanning two periods that are full of secrets is also a psychological family drama. There is mention of patricide, incest and video games. All that may seem disparate, but the clever construction of this enigmatic film and an acute sense of the shocking image captivate and engage.
